I know who I am...

i have risen from within...
risen up from that place ...
where i have kept all the dogs at bay...
risen from my nurturing house...
risen from my childhood friend...
risen from my warmest chamber...
risen into the arms of sunlight...
waiting patiently all this long while...
waiting for me to step out...
and see with fresh eyes...
without fear...
to step upon the solid ground...
walk into my life...
taste its freedom...
taste is beauty...
taste every sublime echoing song upon my lips...
taste these kisses...
that have waited...
these loving eyes...
that look into mine...
that look squarely into my heart...
and say...
i've waited so long for you...
your'e all i ever dreamed of...
all i've prayed for...
so long ago...
your'e the answer to my hearts cry...

yes...
i know who i am...

i'm not defined by anyone else...
i've made my choices...
rich in freedom...
discovered who i am...
am discovering still..
i like myself...

and i feel so beautiful...
